HW: Textbook - Tall Tales p. 679 and Dialect p. 679.
11/4: Power Point on Huck Finn - take notes. Issue novels.
11/7: Read in class chapters 1 - 3 - identify expository elements, local color realism, regional literature elements, setting, dialect, and description. Begin Content Reading Guide Handout and Detailed Reading Guide Handout. These guides should be used in accordance with the daily reading assignment. HW: Read Chapters 4 - 5.
11/8: Discuss reading. HW: Read Chapters 6 - 8.
11/9: Discuss reading. HW: Read Chapters 9 - 11.
11/10: Discuss reading. HW: Cause/Effect Relationships Handout (25 points). HW: Read Chapters 12 - 14.

11/14: Discuss reading. Be sure to up-to-date on all questions.

11/15: TEST #1 on Chapters 1-14. HW: Read Chapters 15 - 16.
