| BIOLOGY I Ms. Szymanski Rm 367 Monarch High School Objective of this course: This course is designed to help you prepare for the State Biology I exam at the end of this course. You must pass this Biology I class and pass the end of course exam in order to receive biology I credit for graduation. You will be asked to learn essential biology topics that will be tested on the exam. Homework reading and writing assignments will be given to enhance your learning of biology. Required materials: 3 prong binder with paper Grade: Chapter/Unit test 2 x 100 Attendance is very important – remember each class is 90 minutes of learning Labs: You must be present to receive the credit of the lab – see me for makeup in Rm 367 within a week of the lab Homework will be writing assignments and task assignments. Homework must be turned in on time to receive full credit. If you are absent on the due date, it must be turned in when you return. Field trips are not absences and work is to be turned in prior to the planned field trips. Notebooks will be checked for class information. Start each day with the following information at the top of your notebook page: Date, Word of the Day(W.O.D.), Objectives, Essential question(E.S.), Correct answer to the essential question, followed by notes, words, class activity, etc. for that day.
Expectations: 2. Disrupting the learning environment of this class will earn you a detention. Detention will be served before and/or after school. 3. You are to be in your seat at the start of class. You will remain in your seat until I dismiss you. 4. You are to be on time. 5. You are to be prepared to learn. 6. You are to keep your area and room neat and clean. No food or drinks are permitted in the room. This is a lab room. 7. When you are absent, you are still RESPONSIBLE for all missed work, notes, tests, etc.
