Classroom Expectations

        PROFESSIONAL

You are a professional student.  In order to achieve success, there are expectations which

differ from those you have at home or around your friends:

  • PROMPT

Be seated by the bell.  Remain seated until teacher (not the bell!) dismisses class.

  • PREPARED

Keep all things class-related - phones and ipods (including ear buds) that are in use or visible during class WILL be confiscated and given to security.  There are no second chances for cell phones.

Parents:  Please contact your child during class times by calling student services instead of their cell phone.

  • POLITE

Be respectful to everyone; profanity of any kind is not acceptable.

  • PARTICIPATE

Attend class daily.  Do your BEST!  Do your own work.  If you allow someone else to copy your work or if you copy from someone else, you will receive a zero for that assignment.

Classroom Policies

  • Attendance/preparedness:  Be in attendance daily and bring all materials with you.  Consistent attendance is critical to your success.  I will not have extra materials if you neglect to bring yours and it is disruptive if you have to borrow.
  • Grading:  Check your grades often in Pinnacle, but keep in mind that grade averages change every time a new grade is added.  Don’t allow yourself to get a zero for an assignment – zeroes have a permanent effect on your class average.  If you have a question about a grade, e-mail me with your specific concern and I will respond within 24 hours. Email:  stephanie.rowe@browardschools.com
    • Late work:  All work is due on time.
    • Make-up work:  See me for assignments you missed the day you return to school, during independent work time rather than at the door or as I am starting class.  Students who are absent more than one day will be expected to come early to school to catch up on lessons missed.  County policy states that you have TWO days for EACH excused absence you have.  Work will not be accepted beyond that deadine.
  • Communication is the key!  Always ask if you need help. If I am busy during class, please e-mail me or stop by my room right before school.  I will be glad to help :)
