Late Work
Assignments should be turned in on time to avoid receiving a zero. No work will be accepted late for a grade once the work has been returned graded to other students.
Materials Assignments, essays, and written projects must be written in plain blue or black ink. The only exception is when you required or permitted turn in typewritten work. Ten points will be deducted for work done in pencil or other than plain blue or black ink pen.
You will be provided with a folder for your vocabulary materials and other designated materials. This folder must be kept in the classroom. Tests, quizzes, handwritten essays and projects, daily classwork, and assignments must be completed using a blue or black ink pen. For daily class, besides a plain blue or black ink pen, you will need lined paper.
Passes for Leaving Class
The bathroom pass can not be given out ten minutes after class begins or before it ends. Passes will be readily given to the clinic if you are ill or have a physical injury. Students will not be given passes to visit counselors, assistant principals, or the office without a previously furnished pass or a call to me from a Monarch staff member.
Cheating
Copying someone else’s work or allowing your work to be copied is cheating. Both students will receive a 0 on the work. Additional disciplinary action will be taken in accord with the Student Code of Conduct.
Detentions
Detentions must be served or you will receive two detentions. If those are not served, a referral will be done.
No-No Items
Cell phones, iPods or other music playing devices, cameras, electronic games, food especially those that leave crumbs or wrappers as classroom litter, drink other than water, make-up other than lip gloss, and any item that can be or is being used as a toy will be confiscated by the teacher. In most cases, they will be returned at the end of the class, if they are turned over without a hassle. At times, you will be able to use iPods when they should not hinder the education process.
