The goal of the AP Spanish Language course is to pepare students
for success on the on the AP Spanish Language Exam.
Students are going to build their proficiency in the areas of reading,
writing,listening and speaking.
The practice on grammar allows ,students to revisit and refine what
they have already learned. We place a large emphasis on exact verb
conjugation: students are required to demonstrate mastery of the list
of main verbs ranging from regular to common irregular verbs. The
verb is the heart of every spoken and written sentence.
Reading: we read stories for meaning. Students are going to be able to
synthesize the ideas and themes in the readings.
Writing: students write every day in Spanish, and during the course
we work on the ideas organization in preparation for essay writing.
Listening: we make regular use of listening activities such as dialogues,
stories on tapes, videos in Spanish, songs, etc.
Speaking: class is conducted in Spanish, and students are going to
participate in many oral activities: speeches, demonstrations and
"picture sequence". To complete some activities students are going to
record their individual stories on a cassette.
