Electronic Music I
Crazy Kid’s Songs
Download the four “kid’s” songs (Mary, London, Row and Twinkle) from the CD.
Rename each of them using the following format:
lastname_London
lastname_Mary
lastname_Row
lastname_Twinkle
Each song is a garageband file and has a short melody composed in the first track.
Part I
Your assignment is to create an arrangement for each of the songs by adding 3 (three) tracks with new instruments.
(drums, bass, guitar, piano, etc…)
These arrangements are your original creations so you may add any instruments to create any style that sounds good to your ear. Remember to save as you go along.
Part II
After you have completed Part I you are going to add an unconventional sound (or two) to your “kid’s songs.” You can find many of these crazy sounds by clicking on the FX button in the loop menu.
Copy and paste the melody in the first track to create measures 9 – 16.
Create another arrangement using drums, bass, etc…
Add one or two “Crazy” sounds to the second half of the song.
*Repeat Part I and Part II for all four kids songs.
After you have finished the arrangements of these “kid’s songs” place them in a folder on your laptop entitled
“LastName_Crazy Kid’s Songs”.
Part III
Record a song from the "first pieces" section in the keyboard book into garageband.
Follow the directions for Part I and Part II and add this song to your Crazy-Kid song folder.
When you have completed all parts - drop the folder into my dropbox.
