Materials Required: 1 folder for classwork. Proper dress out clothes and shoes
Course Purpose: To provide students with the opportunity to develop an individual optimal level of physical fitness. To acquire knowledge of physical fitness concepts and of the significance of lifestyle on one’s health and fitness.
Course Requirements: Classroom work Fitness labs Written tests and quizzes Fitness assessments – pre and post Notebook Class work and homework
Classroom Requirements: *Be in the locker room before the tardy bell rings on activity days *Do not share clothing or lockers *Dress out on activity days regardless of weather conditions *Have your notebook (with paper and a writing utensil) on classroom days *Use appropriate social skills, showing respect for others at all times *Be a “Knight” exhibit all characteristics found in the knights code of chivalry *Improper dress or behavior can and will result in dismissal from the classroom environment by way of a referral
Grading system: Dress out and participation = 20 points Cardiovascular fitness assessment = 50-100 points * 1 mile run * 20 minute walk/run Classroom assignments Written tests = 100 points FCAT assignments = 30 points Journal/portfolio = 200 points Quizzes = 20-25 points
Make Up Policy: If you are absent from class on an activity day you will be required to make up that days points by reading an article and summarizing it, or by running one mile after school. Make up assignment must be completed within 5 school days of absence. It is at the teacher’s discrepancy which assignment will be completed for the absence. If you are absent on a classroom day, you need to ask another reliable student what you missed, and pick up your information or materials from the makeup folder. |
