Butterfly Garden Project

PART II

Now that we have planted the garden, we need to create informational cards for each of the plants. In a word document you will compile this information to be used for our garden.   In pairs you will complete the following:

• Scienctific Name of plant
• Adult and/or larval stage of butterfly associated with this plant
• time(s) of year both adult and/or larval stage are found in South Florida
• pictures of both the plant and the butterfly

PART I

groups of 2 to 3

1.Research the types of butterflies you would like to see in the garden. 

• Use the following list as a guide to help you decide which butterflies you want. 
• You will want to have both larval host AND nectar source for the species you would like to see.

2. Create a powerpoint/ keynote presentation describing the types of plants/butterfly's you would like to see and why.

• should include 4 to 5 species of butterfly
• include pictures of both the butterfly AND the plant species
• include the months that they are in adult and larval forms
• limit the number of plants to 5

3. Then as a class, we will decide which plants we will use.  Then, using the design of the gardern from Mr Raparelli's math class, we will create a design with those plants.
