Cigar Box Guitar project:
This project is broken down into a couple different parts that when put together, creates something suitable for the announcements.
1. Collect 15 - 20 pictures of cigar box guitars and old school blues players.
2. Create a professional-looking Keynote project that holds all of those pictures along with limited text. Text size shouldn't be smaller than size 20. This project will have between 9 and 12 slides. Add transitions and export as a self playing large size Quicktime movie.
3. Write a 100 - 120 word script on the history of cigar box guitars to use for a voiceover.
4. Download this video clip and import it into an iMovie project.
5. Import the Quicktime movie you made in part 2.
6. Record your voiceover.
7. Using the example I showed in class, create your own project for cigar box guitars. Remember, put the guitar movie on the timeline. Split your Keynote movie like this: title slide without transition, then the remaining slides into groups of two (slide<transition>slide). Be sure to trim each start clip in the groups so it doesn't begin with a transition.
Once your Keynote is all split, click on one grouping, go to Edit - Cut, then navigate to your timeline and move the playhead where you want the clip to go. Go to Advanced - Place clip at playhead. The video will show from the Keynote video but the audio will be from the guitar movie.
Save often.
8. Finished projects should be a combination of the supplied video, your Keynote-created Quicktime movie and your voiceover. Total length will be between 1:40 and 1:50.
9. Export finished project as "cigarboxguitar_lastname_p?"

Announcement Backgrounds: We use Keynote every morning for the morning announcements. These backgrounds reflect the topic of the announcements in a professional and clear manner. You will be practicing making these backgrounds.
Create Keynote slides for the following topics: baseball, softball, track, boys volleyball and SGA. These slides must be size 800x600.
Be sure to allow half of the slide for a person to stand when reading the announcement. Your design should be clean and professional looking. You may incorporate pictures from Fireworks.
Send these 5 completed slides as one Keynote file. Put your names on the first slide somewhere and save as "Slides_lastname_p?"
HINT: Here's a PDF that shows how to save pictures with a transparent background for use in Keynote. |
