COURSE CONTENT: Geometry Honors is a rigorous course designed to develop the geometric relationships and deductive strategies that can be used to solve a variety of real world and mathematics problems. The content will include geometric constructions, terminology, and fundamental properties of geometry; deductive and inductive reasoning and their application to formal and informal proofs; formulas pertaining to the measurement of plane and solid figures; coordinate geometry and transformations on the coordinate plane; explorations of geometric relationships such as parallelism, perpendicularity, congruence, and similarity, properties of circles, and right triangle trigonometry.

CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS:
• ID badges must be worn at all times
• Be in your assigned seat, with work out, when the bell rings.
• Raise your hand and wait to be recognized before you speak.
• Please stay in your seats unless you have permission to move.
• Keep ALL food and drinks out of the classroom.
• ALL CELL PHONES NEED TO BE TURNED OFF DURING CLASS-NOT ON VIBRATE
• I-pods are not allowed in class.
• No talking during morning announcements.
• We will work for the entire 90-minute block.
• Passes will not be handed out during the first or last 10 minutes of each period.

SUGGESTED SUPPLEMENTARY MATERIALS:
• Number 2 pencil

• 3 ring binder with loose leaf paper & 6 tab dividers (warm ups, notes, homework, vocabulary, significant numbers, and quizzes/tests)
• Scientific calculator or TI -83 Plus Graphing Calculator
• Protractor & compass (plastic)

PEER TUTORING
If you would like to volunteer to help another student in math (service
hours earned) or if you need help in math, please attend our after
school peer tutoring every Monday & Wednesday from 2:45-3:45 in
room 267.
