French Club News
French Club will meet this term at 2:45 on Tuesdays. Activities will vary based on culture points of the months.
First meeting will be on 9/2. Please come and join the club and meet new friends.
French Club next meeting will be on Tuesday 9/9. We will be working on Peace banners. Dues are due in class.
Meeting on 9/16. Play Pétanque outside by the gym. President will speak about Relay for Life & can drive for the Haïtian people.
Next meeting will be held on the 23 of September. This is the last date to pay dues for the Club. There will be NO meeting on 9/30 because we do not have school on that day.
Meeting on 10/7. We will speak about F/T to "Le Cirque du Soleil". We will watch a French movie: "Les Compères " (part 1)
Meeting on 10/14. French Movie " Les Compères" part 2. No meeting on 10/21 due to Midterm Exams.
Meeting on 10/28. Play French Jeopardy. Pick up candy box for candy sale on November 7 in room 558. Next meeting will be on 11/18 due to election day on 11/4 and veterans day on 11/11.
Candy sale ends on 11/14- All members must return their money and/or candy on11/14 before leaving school.
Meeting on 11/25. My son Oliver who participated in the Olympic trials in swimming will be talking to the swim team during French Club.
Mrs. Macleod will talk about adopting, with different clubs, a poor child somewhere in the world.
Meeting on 12/2. Students will decorate French Christmas ornaments. They will discuss Toys for Tots ( for 12/5) , Bûche de Noël ( for 12/16) , Epcot ( for March 28). Madame will find out if Spanish Club would like to join us in March to Epcot.
Next meeting will be on 12/9.
Meeting on 12/9. Students played different French Games. We spoke about club picture taking on 12/16 and the Bûche de Nöel treat. We also spoke about the F/T to Epcot on March 28, 2009. We will be riding the bus with Spanish Club. Each Club is responsable for its own expenses.

French Club end of the year banquet
On 1/31/07, students met to celebrate La fete de la Chandeleur or crepe day (February 2 in France). Madame cooked crepes for the students who enjoyed them with choclate spread & strawberry spread.
On 2/14, we will be celebrating la Fete de la St. Valentin.
On 2/20, we will celebrate Mardi Gras.
French Club will participate in Relay for Life and will represent the World Language Department. Everyone is invited to join in this wonderful experience.
French Club will not meet on February 27 due to FCAT. Next meeting will be on March 6. Please remember to come to the meetings because unless you are an active participant, you will not be able to enjoy the free field trips and dinners offered to members.
Next meeting will be held on Wednesday 3/7. Discussion on the coming candy sale of March 12 to March 16 will take place. Please come so you can find out when & where the candy boxes will be distributed. The movie " La Boum" will be shown. There will be no meeting on 3/14 because of Early Release & Midterm exams. The next meeting will be held on 3/21. The second half of " La Boum" will be shown.
French Club members voted to pay for the Epcot tickets of the 4 seniors that have been members of the French Club since 9th grade as a graduation gift. Kaly, Vivian, Candace & Ana will be going on the Field trip to Epcot on 3/24/07
French Club will participate in the Incoming 9 grade Orientation that will be held April 12 at 7 pm. All members are invited to participate. We will be talking about this subject at the next meeting on 3/28. We will also do activities for April's Fool day, " Poisson d'Avril".

Meeting on 5/2/07 will be very important. We will be voting on next year's board members.

Meeting on 5/16/07 is our last meeting of the year. It will be held at the French restaurant La Vie en Rose at 5pm.
