Class Information

Reading class is to learn reading strategies and apply these strategies to text. Reading class is also a class to help develop test taking skills.

Our Daily Routine:

Vocabulary practice and daily Poetry Fluency Comprehension the first 30 minutes.

Managed Independent Learning Stations- 60 minutes:

Station 1: Oral reading, Vocabulary study, Comprehension, Critical Thinking and Test Taking Strategies.

Station 2:Empower3000 Computer Differentiated Instruction

Station 3: Project based activities for comprehension, writing and critical thinking

Class expectations:

Students are to be on time to class each period throughout the day.

Students are to be prepared each day with pen or pencil.

Students are encouraged to try their very best and put forth effort each day.

Assignments

Due to the structure of this course, students must report to teacher upon return from an absence to get any make up assignments.

Class work not made up, will be a grade of zero. If in the Internal Suspension program, students will have an assignment to do listed under the Assignments section.
