You will be responsible for four book projects to be completed on your own time and due on the
following dates.
September 24 BOOKMARK
NOVEL OF YOUR CHOICE “Coming of Age”
1. Design a bookmark. Give the title, author and illustrations from your book
on one side. On the other side, make a list of new vocabulary. You must
include (25) vocabulary words, the page number where you found the
word, and a definition of each word. You may draw this by hand or use
computer graphics.

2. Design a CD cover that is in an actual plastic case --- you
have to design the front and back. Students are required to
title TEN songs using events that happened in the book. Then
for two of the titles you have to MAKE UP lyrics for them. Lyrics
will include three verses with two choruses. These songs have
to be about important events in the story. When I read the
titles and songs, I will get a real feel for the book. You may use
computer graphics or draw it yourself.

SCRAPBOOK
4. Create a scrapbook of FOUR poems, and FOUR artwork
(originals and others) that somehow capture the life, times and
nature of your favorite character from one of the Hazelwood High
Trilogy books. Make choices based on both literal and figurative
connections; in other words, some entries may relate directly to the
subject's interests or actions, while others may describe the subject
through metaphor, and figurative connections.
Each feature MUST include a brief explanation that clarifies its connection to the
subject.
February 5 MOVIE POSTER HISTORICAL FICTION
Make a movie poster about the book. It is an advertisement for the
movie made from the historical fiction book of your choice. You have
to rate it, come up with review words from newspapers, and include
two quotations from the book. Choose two real actors that would
play the main characters.
