Course Content:  This course is designed to provide a basic typing skills and proficiency in MS Office software. The curriculum introduces skills used for basic keyboarding and letter formatting, using Microsoft Office Word to effectively format business letters, emails and resumes. The students will use Microsoft Excel to develop spreadsheets, including graphs and mathematical formulas. Emphasis is on formatting spreadsheets and mastering mathematical formulas. The students will use Microsoft Office Power Point to present various projects to their classmates. Emphasis is given to content material and public speaking.

Key boarding

Formatting Microsoft Office Excel spreadsheets

Formulas used in Microsoft Office Excel

Creating a resume using Microsoft Office Word

Developing Microsoft Office Power Point presentations

Adding animation and transitions to presentations

Make-up Work: Students will have 2 days to make-up any class work that was missed due to an excused or unexcused absence. Please see me for make-up work.

Grading Policy:

            Evaluation: Daily Assignments, Class Participation, Projects, Quizzes and Test

            Grading Scale:  According to Broward County Grading Policies

Homework/Class Preparation Policy:

Students must bring all necessary supplies to class each day.  This includes Monarch Planner, paper, pen, pencil, and secondary storage device (CDRW or Flash Drive) for all documents.  Students will be assigned a folder to hold any printed projects, test, and/or quizzes.

Academic Integrity:
