Studio 444 - Class Information

Grading Policy

Students are graded as follows:
75% = projects/assignments / book work
25% = participation

Most projects are graded according to rubrics. Below is an example of a generic rubric (the rubrics for individual assignments are more specific)

A++ (6) Worthy of a grade beyond an A!  Totally awesome!

A (5)

Wow! Does MUCH MORE than is expected. Excellent skills and craftsmanship.

B (4)

Does what is expected, plus more. Good skills and craftsmanship.

C (3)

Does what is expected. Meets all objectives of the assignment.

D (2)

Does not meet all objectives / requirements of the assignment.

Does not meet the due date.

F (1) (0)

Does little (1) or nothing (0)

Not turning in an assignment will result in a zero grade for the assignment. A zero grade can seriously damage the overall class grade.

Make-Up Work

All students are responsible for work missed when they were absent. It is the student's responsibility to ask the teacher for any make-up work upon return to class following an absence.

For regular class assignments, upon return to school, the student has 2 days to complete the assignment (as per Board policy).

For long-term assignments, the work must be turned in on the day the student returns to school.

Materials

Students are expected to bring a pencil to class every day.

In addition, each class has more materials requirements. Please check the specific class webpages for more information.
