About Coach Griffin

I began my coaching career in 1977 in Louisiana coaching volleyball and basketball for 5 years. I coached volleyball at the University of South Alabama for 2 years before returning home to Davie,Florida in 1987.

My basketball teams entered the state play-offs 4 of the 5 years I coached, while the volleyball teams earned 3 state championships - one in Opelousas, Louisiana '81 and 2 at Marjory Stoneman Douglas(MSD) High in '92 & '94.

Many of my students received some kind of athletic aid to attend college and continue playing volleyball while obtaining a college degree.

I teach health and physical education classes and I love teaching and coaching.  I started four volleyball clubs for off-season play in 3 different states and enjoyed coaching the first ever MSD boys volleyball team as well.

I am a firm believer that DREAMS DO COME TRUE.
My new dream is to build a program at Monarch which nurtures discipline, dedication and a desire to achieve to the best of your ability.

I AM PROUD TO BE A KNIGHT.
