Knights Seminar WebQuest:
Conquer the Information Age!

Introduction

Welcome Knights in training.  To be truly inducted into Monarch’s castle you must complete an information quest to gather the KEYS OF KNOWLEDGE.  The purpose of this quest is for you to become familiar with the media center’s print and electronic resources and to learn to use information effectively.  To complete the quest you must participate in the Knightly Challenges.  At the successful completion of each you will earn one KEY OF KNOWLEDGE.  When you have collected all of the keys you will have conquered the Information Age!

To assist you on your journey Mrs. Gil and Ms. Smoot, your librarians, will be providing help for you along the darkened path toward the light of knowledge. Anytime you see text written in red, they are providing examples and/or help to you.

For your journey you will need to gather some supplies. Your KNIGHT’S SURVIVAL KIT should include:

• Folder
• MLA Quick Citation Guide
• MHS Media Center brochure (available at the circulation desk)
• Copy of A.U.P.
• Paper

• Pencil or Pen

Rules of the Quest:

• You must take each Knightly Challenge in order.
• You must master each challenge before taking the next.  Remember, put your best foot forward at all times!

The Task: To take Knightly Challenges to gain Information Literacy skills and collect the KEYS OF KNOWLEDGE. The challenges, however, require you to work alone.

Before taking any challenge, take out a blank sheet of paper.  On the heading of the paper, write your name (first and last), date, teacher’s name, and period in the top right hand corner of your document. Also be sure to give your paper a title.   You will need to head your paper this way for each Knightly challenge you take.
